SOLaleur® – Natural Reduction of Erythema
Developed exclusively by Oils of Aloha®, SOLaleur® is a unique formula clinically proven to treat sunburns and other UV-related damage. By suppressing erythema caused by the sun, SOLaleur® can act as a key base component for formulators creating a number of health and wellness products.
How SOLaleur® Works
Oils of Aloha’s SOLaleur® is comprised of a proprietary blend of kukui oil, macadamia oil and a special mix of antioxidant vitamins. By mixing the natural skin benefits of kukui and macadamia oils with the vitamins, SOLaleur® can:
- Provide effective erythema reduction when applied immediately after irradiation
- Pro-active shielding that makes the skin less susceptible to damage
- Facilitation of the healing process through vapor permeable protection
Kukui Oil has long been used in Hawaii to relieve sunburn and to reduce sun related damage to the skin. It is a highly polyunsaturated oil produced and refined on the North Shore of O’ahu. Macadamia Oil is 80% monounsaturated and an excellent source of palmitoleic acid. It is believed to slow the aging of the skin and lipid peroxidation.
Who Needs SOLaleur®?
This formulation has significant potential for both sun care products and cancer related radiation burns. In a scientific study done by AMA Laboratories, Inc. in March of 2005 it was found that the product works significantly when applied 15 minutes before and immediately after uv-exposure. It also provides some relief when used one to twenty four hours after over-exposure.
“SOLaleur® is a ‘molecular Band Aid’. More sophisticated than standard Band-Aids, SOLaleur® can protect the skin and provides a vapor-permeable barrier that induces healing.”
